Why my laptop recognize a new hard drive 2.5 internal EIDE?
The original hard drive is a Hitachi ATA / IDE Model HTS541080G9AT00 and I want to install an Enhanced IDE Hard Drive WD1200BEVE. EIDE hard drive is not compatible with older IDE laptop? The connector pin layout is identical … but the laptop does not recognize … 0MB only says SATA in my BIOS setup screen.
try to change some BIOS settings? if proved one of the hardware tools, such as (PARAGON) http://www.paragon-software.com/home/hdm-personal/ and see if that helps. good luck
