Graphics card causes computer to not boot?
I’ve troubleshooted a problem with failure of my computer to power up and I have pinpointed to cause to be when I plug the 6pin PCIe power into the card. It still powers on even with the GPU just plugged into the mobo, just not with the extra power into the card. Is there something I should be looking for such as a blown fuse or a bad pin that I could repair? I believe it may be out of warranty.
The PSU is over the reccommend grade, and it has been working perfectly fine for the past 4 months, no problems.
Also, by the PCIe power I mean the 6 pin connector. When it is plugged in, the computer ceases to power on.
Power Supply is likely not strong enough or will not handle that power load. The PCI-E slot itself can supply up to 75w. Anything else is supplied by the external 6pin connector. This equates to an extra power draw on the PSU.
