What is the red cable that connects my motherboard to my CD drive called?
There is a red cable that connects from a slot on my motherboard to a slot on the place where I put CDs in. It is not a power cable. I believe I need to replace it and need to know what the cable is called so I know what to replace. I have a Windows Vista Compaq Presario 32-bit. Thanks to anyone who can help.
if it is a small cable its a sata….if it was a big ribbon type of hook up it would be a ide ribbon….
